Introducing Siphiwo Mtshazi, a curious and conscious 25-year-old. Joining the enke Catalyst Program was one of his best decisions. Siphiwo always dreamed of becoming a qualified Social Worker. After matriculating in 2017, he hoped to enroll in the Auxiliary Worker Certificate Program at Hugenote
College but couldn’t secure funding, causing him to fall victim to hopelessness.
However, this wave of hopelessness did not last, as he would soon encounter the Catalyst program. Siphiwo gained confidence and found it better to seek out and identify opportunities. It also sparked ideas on how he could actively prepare for future opportunities, while also assisting many young people who are without employment in his community.
In 2021, he received a bursary from Sibona Ilanga to study Business Management at Motheo College in Bloemfontein. After completing his course in 2022, he returned to the organization as a Catalyst Facilitator
Through his journey and the skills gained from the program, Siphiwo realized his high level of communication and social skills, becoming more open-minded and empathetic.
He has since started his own business – Mtshazi Holdings Enterprize, providing petroleum and diesel to local companies. He is planning to grow his business by having his own trailers that he will be renting out.
He envisions this happening in the next 5 years with the markup money he is currently making with the tenders he is getting from local companies.
