Official Launch: enke Alumni Business Generator
We officially kick-started Spark Venture, the enke Business Generator Alumni program by opening the call for applications to this transformative program, designed exclusively for enke alumni who are ready to take the entrepreneurial leap.
We believe in the power of ideas and the impact of action. The enke: Alumni Business Generator is more than just a business generator program; it’s a community, a support system, and a launchpad for visionary entrepreneurs ready to make a difference. It is geared towards young people who want to continue their businesses or taking your existing venture to new heights, the Alumni Business Generator offers the mentorship, resources, and network you need to turn your vision into reality.
Here are the few benefits our alumni will experience upon being selected into the program;
- Exclusive to enke Alumni: Tailored for individuals who have completed any enke program (Trailblazer, Catalyst, or Youth 4 Service), ensuring a community that shares values of innovation, impact, and action.
- Comprehensive Support: From a five-day entrepreneurship acceleration bootcamp led by SocioNext, focusing on social innovation and rapid prototyping, to personalised mentorship and financial backing, we’ve got you covered.
- Financial Investment: Not only will you benefit from expert guidance and a supportive community, but selected entrepreneurs will also receive significant financial support, including a monthly stipend during the Business Building Phase and start-up capital to bring your business model to life.
- Impact Driven: We’re looking for business ideas that offer viable solutions to pressing needs. The enke: Alumni Business Generator (Spark Venture) is about creating value that echoes beyond profit, driving social, economic, and environmental change.
The Program will take please in various Phases:
- Entrepreneurship Acceleration Bootcamp: Kick off with Socio Next’s dynamic 5-day, hands-on training in social innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Business Building Phase (BBP): Refine your business model with a Venture Builder, attend monthly entrepreneurial training sessions, and receive a stipend to focus fully on your venture.
- Business Launch Phase (BLP): Launch your business with operational support from a Value Creation Manager and up to R35,000 in startup capital.
We have successfully completed the Entrepreneurship Acceleration Boot camp where our youth entrepreneurs had a series of tasks to complete including going out on a field day to test out their business in the market, to test profitability, among other factors.
17 alumni entrepreneurs are going into the Business Building phase of the program, where they will be supported by a Venture Builder on a monthly basis to refine their business models and ensure that their businesses have a solid foundation. 
We received an overwhelming number of applications for Spark Venture and we are excited to partner with youth and various stakeholders to make this program a success.
