Meet Our 2022 FirstRand FirstJob Interns
As part of the Tshepo 1 million campaign that was launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2017 First Rand has opened up the opportunity for companies, NGOs, and community-based organizations to apply to join the FirstRand/ First Jobs program. This program enables organizations that get selected to get a chance to hire much-needed interns that they would not necessarily be able to pay directly because of many different reasons including but not limited to budget constraints for 12 months. FirstRand allows for organizations to recruit interns that they pay on behalf of the selected organizations, and also provides additional support & training to the interns for the duration of the internship. FirstRand also provides the interns with a chance to further their education by paying for any course of their choice for up to R11000.
enke heeded the call for organizations to apply and we were lucky enough to be one of the selected organizations. We were able to interview and recruit 5 new interns for enke, 4 who are based in Gauteng and 1 intern who is based in the Northern Cape with the enke team in Kimberley. The interns are based within our programs and operations departments and started on the 1st of July 2022.
