Meet Nwayitelo Sethole , a trailblazer from the Mamelodi chapter. Nwayitelo started a CAP for learners and poor community members in Soshanguve struggle to afford basic needs, such as clothes due to homelessness and unemployment.
She started a clothing donation drive which is set to assists poor families, by having people to donate old wearable clothes. The drive happens in different public spaces around Soshanguve and the clothes donated are given to those who have been identified in the community of block AA. The drive is held once every month in different venues and will continue after enke graduation. With the help and support from the community and learners from her school she was able to make the drive a success.
Learners and members of the local church are responsible for spreading the word in terms of the venue of where the drive that month will be held. As well as the community members who donate.
Nwayitelo and CAP mates started developing their marketing strategies and communicated with all possible stakeholders who could contribute. They make monthly posters to market the drive and technicalities. They then go to the venue selected that month and make themselves as visible as possible to attract donors. The ushers from the church wash and distribute the clothes according to a list from the local councilor who has already identified those in need.
