In 2020 we began a partnership with Sibona Ilanga Trust. At the core of this partnership, we intended to see young people in De Aar (Northern Cape) have hope and be ignited to see life beyond their challenging circumstances.
They decided to partner with us utilizing all our programs and this yielded an encouraging outcome. Through this partnership we were able to empower and equip over 524 young people with 156 who went through our Trailblazer Plus program, while 368 went through our catalyst program.
Overall, the partnership empowered 538 stakeholders, including school learners and unemployed youth in De Aa through Pushin’ Progress initiative and many of them converting into Employment, Entrepreneurship, Education or Training (EEET), this has been a great achievement.
In addition, enke has engaged a total of 10 organisations, as Community Partners and currently have 3 organisations that started their journey in January 2024. These organisations have shown high potential for continued implementation and impact. enke and Sibona Illanga Trust’s objectives include capacitating Community Based Organisations and ensure they are equipped to run holistic youth development programs, which increase the likelihood of accessing funding opportunities.
While enke’s physical presence in De Aar may have come to an end, the legacy of empowerment, self-belief, and positive change will continue through various interactions and our Alumni Network. We remain dedicated to supporting young people and organizations working with young people, across various regions, driven by the vision of a world that recognizes and nurtures the potential of its youth.
