Trailblazer Plus Launch in Limpopo

The enke Trailblazer program took an exciting step forward with its official launch in Limpopo from the 5th to the 7th of July 2024. This significant event marked the beginning of our efforts to empower young leaders in the region through the Trailblazer initiative. The launch featured a Champions Training, where 12 dedicated volunteers, known as Champions, were selected and contracted to support the implementation of the program in Limpopo. These Champions, along with the Trailblazer Champion Support Team, played a crucial role in delivering content and ensuring the well-being of participants throughout the training.

The launch was a well-coordinated effort by the enke team, attended by 113 Representative Council of Learners (RCLs) and 9 Teacher Liaison Officers (TLOs) from 8 schools participating in the program. The primary goal of this launch was to introduce the Trailblazer program formally and prepare the RCLs for their roles by equipping them with essential leadership skills. The training also focused on establishing and managing Trailblazer clubs and laying the groundwork for School Action Projects (SAPs) and Community Action Projects (CAPs) that will follow in the coming months.

As the launch concluded, the stage was set for the participants to begin implementing their School Action Projects. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed during the training were a testament to the potential for positive change that this program can inspire. Ivy, the Program Officer leading the Trailblazer efforts in Limpopo, expressed her optimism, saying, “I would like to see the Trailblazers of 2024 applying the skills they will acquire throughout the program to drive positive change in their schools and communities. I look forward to seeing them implement their School Action Projects effectively.”

With the training complete and the support of their Champions, the RCLs are now ready to take on the challenges ahead, using the skills and knowledge gained to make a tangible impact in their schools and communities. The launch was not just the beginning of a program but the start of a journey towards meaningful, student-led change in Limpopo.
